What makes this translation unique is that it has been edited by kids, for kids. I have worked diligently with a team of students (mostly grade 2-5) to identify difficult words and replace them with easier ones that carry the same meaning. As for the words we couldn’t replace, they are explained in the glossary, along with the Arabic terms used in this book. With the help of qualified Islamic and public school teachers and professional editors, we made sure that the translation is accurate and accessible.

About the Translator
Dr. Mustafa Khattab is a Canadian-Egyptian authority on interpreting the Quran. He was a member of the first team that translated the Ramadan night prayers (Tarawîḥ) live from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina (2002-2005). Dr. Khattab memorized the entire Quran at a young age, and later obtained a professional ijâzah in the Ḥafṣ style of recitation with a chain of narrators going all the way to Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ. He received his Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Islamic Studies in English with Honours from Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Languages & Translation. He lectured on Islam at Clemson University (OLLI Program, 2009-2010), held the position of Lecturer at Al-Azhar University for over a decade starting in 2003, and served as the Muslim Chaplain at Brock University (2014-2016) and UTM (2019-2021). He is a member of the Canadian Council of Imams and a Fulbright Interfaith Scholar. He has served as an Imam in the U.S.A. and Canada since 2007 and is the translator of The Clear Quran (2015), the author of The Clear Quran® for Kids (2020), The Clear Quran® Dictionary (2021), Shukran (an illustrated story for children, 2020), The Nation of Islam (2011), and Outfoxing Fox News (2017), and contributor to the Encyclopedia of Muslim American History (2010).

This amazing journey of a boy raised in North America is based on a mix of real–life and fictional situations. Shukran (pronounced /shook-ran/, which means ‘gratitude’ in Arabic) is full of innocent fun and silly rhymes with a powerful twist, highlighting universal human values. Utilizing years of experience in education, counseling, and parenting Dr. Khattab walks a young man towards gratitude. It is our hope that this story will put a smile on kids’ faces and motivate them to appreciate their parents, pets, and the world at large.

An amazing book that got my son engaged from the first page, so easy to read and it takes you through different topics which is really entertaining and gives a high dose of information with out any burden, I recommend a copy to be in all shelves of the Quran in all Muslims houses around the globe.

A very easy and straight forward translation for kids. It uses clear and plain language to make it more understandable.
Every surah has a Background story that provides the context and reason for revelation, and these stories reference the Hadith or Tafseer from which the story was taken
Each Surah also has words of wisdom that try to answer challenging questions asked by young minds and relates the answers to the Quran and hadith. There are also Side Stories that give examples from daily life in modern times.
It is beneficial for both young and adult students and is very helpful for those who are memorizing as it provides them with an understanding of Allah’s (swt) speech.
My Kids 11 and 8 love reading it and so do I 🙂

AlhumdulliAllah got my copy today and I am very happy with it. I have been looking for a simple translation for the kids for a long time and Jazak Allah Khair Dr. Mustafa Khattab for the effort. May Allah bless you and reward you for that. I am eager to see the whole Quran In Sha Allah too. Even I am reading it and not only this Quran is great for kids, but it’s also a great source for any age.

This is amazing work by Dr. Mustafa and team. It addresses child psychology and provides answers to most questions that our kids face while interacting with their peers or while being exposed to the society. Definitely a great read both of kids as well as for adults, specially in family setting where a child can read out and the family could listen. JazzkAllah khair for this great contribution to the world!
